These terms are an agreement between you and Fabqueue (“fabqueue”, “we”, “us”), covering your use of the fabqueue service at app.fabqueue.com, the fabqueue Edge software, and related services. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you're accepting for a company, you're confirming you have the authority to do that.
1. Pilot program
fabqueue is currently offered as a pilot. That means: the service is early and under active development; features may change, be added, or be removed — sometimes on short notice; and things will occasionally break. We'll do our best to warn you about disruptive changes and to fix problems fast, and we may ask for your feedback along the way. Any pricing for the pilot is whatever we've separately agreed with you in writing; if we've agreed nothing, the pilot is free.
2. Your account
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and pick a real email — account recovery and important notices go there.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the teammates you invite into your organization.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account or an Edge device has been compromised.
- fabqueue is a business tool — you must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to use it.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use fabqueue to break the law, and don't attack the service. In particular, you agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, or to produce anything that is unlawful for you to produce;
- try to access other customers' data, probe or circumvent our security or rate limits, or disrupt the service;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement;
- upload content you don't have the rights to.
(Inspecting the Edge code on your device, or running your own self-managed Edge, is fine — see section 6.)
4. Your data is yours
Everything you put into fabqueue — 3D models, G-code, CAD files, components, inventory, orders, customer information — is yours. We claim no ownership of it. You give us just enough permission to host, process, back up, and transmit it as needed to run the service for you (for example, sending a G-code file to your Edge device to print it), and that permission ends when the data is deleted. How we handle personal information is covered by the privacy policy.
Your buyers are your customers: you're responsible for meeting your own obligations to them (accurate listings, shipping, privacy notices, and the like).
5. Marketplace connections
Connecting a marketplace (currently Etsy) is optional and happens on your instruction. Your marketplace account remains governed by that marketplace's own terms, and you're responsible for staying in good standing there. Write-back (marking orders shipped, syncing listing quantities) only happens after you've explicitly switched it on, and you can turn it off or disconnect at any time. We're not responsible for actions the marketplace takes on your account or for changes to its API.
6. Open-source Edge software
The fabqueue Edge software — the agent and operating-system image that run on the device in your shop — is being prepared for release as open source. Until that release and its license are published, the license notice that ships on the device governs your use of the code itself, and you're welcome to inspect the source on your device. These terms govern the fabqueue service the device connects to. Running your own modified or self-managed Edge is allowed but unsupported (see section 7).
7. Hardware, and what we support
fabqueue is a software company. We support the fabqueue software and your experience running it — always. That covers the app, the Edge software on a supported device, setup and pairing, and the connection between them.
Hardware is warranted by its manufacturer, never by fabqueue. Raspberry Pis, SD cards, power supplies, and your 3D printers are covered by their manufacturers' (OEM) warranties. If fabqueue or a partner supplied a device or pre-flashed card, we'll help you route a hardware defect to the manufacturer's warranty process — but fabqueue itself does not warrant, repair, or replace electronics. A simple rule of thumb from our support policy: if the fabqueue setup screen appears, it's software and it's on us; if the device won't power on or boot at all, it's hardware and it's the manufacturer.
Self-managed installs (running the Edge agent container on your own hardware and operating system) are offered as-is and are not supported.
3D printers are physical machines that get hot and move. fabqueue queues and dispatches work, but you are responsible for operating your machines safely and per their manufacturers' instructions, including appropriate supervision of unattended printing.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE DURING THE PILOT: WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST — KEEP COPIES OF YOUR SOURCE FILES.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FABQUEUE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA — INCLUDING DAMAGE TO PRINTERS, PRINTS, OR MATERIALS ARISING FROM QUEUED OR DISPATCHED JOBS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DON'T ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10. Termination
You can stop using fabqueue at any time; email [email protected] to close your account and have its data deleted per the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms — where practical we'll warn you first — and we may wind down the pilot itself with reasonable notice, in which case we'll give you time to export your data. Sections that by their nature should survive (4, 8, 9, 11) survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes we'll email account holders before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
