fabqueue is a queue and inventory manager for 3D-print shops, operated by Fabqueue (“fabqueue”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the fabqueue app at app.fabqueue.com, the fabqueue Edge device software that runs in your shop, and the emails we send. Questions or requests: [email protected].
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your print queue — nothing more.
- We never sell personal information, show ads, or use your customers' information for anything except fulfilling their orders.
- Marketplace credentials are encrypted at rest; passwords are stored only as one-way hashes.
- The Edge device in your shop reports printer status — it has no camera or microphone and sends no video, audio, or images.
- Email us and we'll delete your data.
What we collect
Your account
Email address, password, and your organization's name. Your password is stored only as a bcrypt hash — a one-way scramble we cannot reverse; we never see or store the password itself. If you invite teammates, we store the email addresses you invite. Email verification and password-reset links are random, single-use tokens that expire.
Your shop's operating data
What you put into fabqueue to run your farm: sites, floors and shelves, printers (names, their addresses on your local network, and any printer access keys you enter), components and bills of materials, inventory movements, uploaded print files (3D models, G-code, CAD files), job history, and fulfillment records. This is your business data — you own it (see the terms of service), and we process it only to provide the service.
Etsy orders and buyers (only if you connect a shop)
When you connect your Etsy shop, fabqueue polls the Etsy API on your behalf and stores: your shop's ID and name; order details (order ID, status, when it was placed, the line items, quantities, and SKUs on it); and the buyer's name and, where Etsy provides it, email address, so you can see whose order you're fulfilling. We deliberately do not import buyer shipping addresses or any payment details — printing shipping labels and taking payment stay on Etsy, where they already live.
The OAuth tokens that let fabqueue talk to Etsy are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM); the encryption keys are stored separately from the database, so a copy of the database alone cannot reveal them. All the permissions fabqueue uses are requested up front, on Etsy's consent screen, when you connect: reading your shop, orders, and listings, and the two write permissions. fabqueue doesn't use the write permissions until you switch write-back on — only then does it mark orders shipped and update listing quantities.
Buyer information received from Etsy is used solely to fulfill orders in your queue, is handled in line with Etsy's API policies, and is never used for marketing. You can disconnect your shop at any time (Admin → Etsy), which stops all polling and write-back, and you can also revoke fabqueue's access from your Etsy account settings. The term "Etsy" is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.
The Edge device in your shop
The fabqueue Edge device connects outbound only — it asks our servers for work; nothing on the internet can reach into your shop network through it. It sends us: printer status samples (whether a printer is idle or printing, print progress, nozzle and bed temperatures), job start and finish reports, and its own software version and update status so we can keep it healthy. It downloads the print files for jobs you've queued.
It has no camera and no microphone: no video, no audio, no images — ever. It talks only to the printers you configure, not to anything else on your network. If you enter a wifi password during setup, that password is stored on the device itself and is never sent to our servers. The device's own credential is generated on the device; our servers store only a hash of it.
Support conversations
The in-app support bubble is powered by Chatwoot. When you're signed in, we attach your email address, your organization's ID, and the page you're on to the conversation so we can actually help — nothing else. Messages you send through the widget are stored with Chatwoot. You can always email [email protected] instead.
Technical basics
Like every web service, our servers keep standard logs including IP addresses, which we use for security and rate limiting (for example, limiting sign-up and password-reset abuse). We use only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and request-forgery protection. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics. Our network provider (Cloudflare) may set its own security cookies, and the support widget keeps its chat session in your browser.
What we never do
- Sell or rent personal information — yours or your customers'.
- Use your buyers' information for marketing, advertising, or anything beyond fulfilling their orders.
- Show ads or embed ad trackers.
- Claim ownership of your models, G-code, or business data.
Where your data lives
fabqueue is operated from the United States and your data is processed and stored there. We use a small set of service providers (subprocessors) to run the service:

How long we keep it
- Account and shop data: for as long as your account is active.
- Accounts that sign up but never verify their email are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Encrypted database backups age out automatically after 7 days.
- Disconnecting Etsy stops all polling immediately; orders already ingested remain in your account's history until you delete them or ask us to.
Deletion and your rights
Email [email protected] from your account address and we will delete your account and its data within 30 days (minus anything we're legally required to keep, and backups, which expire on the schedule above).
Wherever you are, we extend the same basic rights: you can ask what we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. If you're in a jurisdiction with specific privacy laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), these are your rights under those laws too, and we honor them — including the CCPA right to know, right to delete, and right to non-discrimination. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
If you run a shop on fabqueue, you're responsible to your own customers for their data; when one of your buyers asks us directly to delete their information, we'll work with you to honor it.
Security
All traffic to fabqueue is encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are bcrypt-hashed, marketplace tokens are encrypted at rest with keys held separately from the database, and Edge device credentials are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you promptly.
Children
fabqueue is a business tool and isn't directed at children under 16; we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date, and for meaningful changes we'll email account holders before they take effect.
